2-1 Surrealism
Durring this project I used oil pastels to create a 2 in 1 surrealism piece of art. I decided to draw an orange inside of an apple because that was the days lunch from when I did the beginning sketch. The forms lined up easily and the waxy finish of the oil pastels allowed me to make the peel of the apple very realistic.

My least favorite medium would be acrylic because I found this medium to be the most difficult to blend because of the fact that the color must be wet while blending and the color often gets onto the brush when you do not want it to.

Introduction to Paint
The most helpful warm up for me was color swatches below because they helped me learn to add value to one single color.
I chose to paint this because it reminds me of my amazing trip to Europe last year and the amazing ite cream truck we stopped at even though it was 20 degrees. I was the only person in my tour group not to get plain chocolate sauce :) .
Color and brown swatches
*make sure to let your paint dry completely next time
It was hard to make the color swatches acutely because if you messed up a little it took a lot of work to fix again.
The color brown is made by mixing complementary colors together.

Drawing Unit
Composition is how things are set up in the work of art
The most helpful warmup for me was the value scales so I could learn about light and dark that I used in all my works.
Pencil
Pros- erasable, many shades, easy to blend
Cons- smears easily, harder to get good value
Pen
Pros- can have very dark values, easy to add texture, doesn't smear
Cons- can't be erased, can't blend at all
Charcoal
Pros- erasable in a sense, easy to blend good value
Cons- smears a lot, stains skin very easily
